Ambit is an eccentric and distinctive sans-serif font that blends the charm of early grotesques with a contemporary twist. Its bold personality is defined by playful details like the curly ‘f’ and ‘r,’ exaggerated bottom loops in characters like ‘c,’ ‘C,’ ‘s,’ and ‘S,’ and the twisting legs of ‘R’ and ‘K.’ These unique features give Ambit a recognizable character that balances quirkiness with functionality.
The family includes seven weights – from Thin to Black – each with matching oblique italics. For even greater control, variable font technology enables precise fine-tuning of weight. Its Latin Extended character set supports most European languages written in the Latin script, ensuring global versatility.
Ambit’s OpenType features enhance its functionality and adaptability. These include ligatures, lining, old-style, and tabular numerals, as well as case-sensitive punctuation. Three stylistic sets unlock a range of alternate shapes: a single-storey ‘a,’ ‘g,’ and an alternate ‘y’; simpler versions of the curly ‘f’ and ‘r’ for improved readability in small text; and an alternate ‘Q’ for creative expression.
With its quirky details and bold personality, Ambit is an excellent choice for branding, packaging, and editorial projects – both in print and online.
FREE variable fonts and a type specimen book are included with all Full Family purchases.
